One-eyed, Sleep-Deprived Mommy with Vertigo
What a fitting beginning to my blog. It’s just like the title says. Let me explain. The sleep-deprivation needs no explanation to any mommy out there, I’m sure. I have a 7 month old and it’s part of the job description. The vertigo, however, is something that occurred unexpectedly this Sunday. Thankfully it was not as severe as it was two summers ago when I had my first experience with it. There were lingering symptoms from this dizziness extravaganza but they were extremely mild. Until Sunday. One minute we’re eating “yummy, yummy rice cereal†and the next minute I’m on the floor, dizzy and feeling like throwing up. Yeah, fun. It’s kind of like being drunk but without any of the “good timesâ€. So, today I’m feeling quite a bit better. Good. Then, while changing Tater’s diapers, she pokes me in the eye. It would have been funny except that it HURT! So, tell me, is it a good idea for a sleep-deprived mommy with one good eye and vertigo to be swaying back and forth in a dimly lit room trying to get her child to sleep? I think not. But that’s a Mommy’s Life.

Definitely funny and interesting .. I couldn’t stop reading and made it all the way to your first post! Thanks for sharing, .. sometimes I feel like I’m reading my own diary; the wrinkly nose breathing in and out (I keep telling her it’s not flattering!!!), the poke in the eye where you swear if they poked any harder juice would squirt out, etc. And darn it, now I’m up past my bedtime again!!
Take care, nice writing!!
