The Dog is back home and resting relatively comfortably. Yay! It’s really good to have her back. She seems to be responding to the antibiotics and other meds they have her on so we’re just going to see how she does for the next couple of days without subjecting her to any more diagnostics. If she stops responding or gets worse, then we’ll continue trying to figure out what the heck is wrong. We’re not out of the woods but I’m just glad she’s here with us right now.

I’ve had this computer for a week and I’ve gotta say I still feel grateful that I can turn it on and be connected to the internet within less than two minutes. My old computer takes no less than 15 minutes to boot up and be ready for internet use. Or any other use for that matter. So doing something “real quick” on the computer just can’t happen. “Oh I’ll just go mapquest that ‘real quick’”. Nope, ain’t gonna happen. You’re going to be late. “Let me just check my bank balance ‘real quick’ before I go grocery shopping.” Uh-uh. Not a chance. I used to just turn the computer on and go do something else (a mani-pedi, make and eat breakfast, clean the bathroom, jog a few miles) until it was ready for use. It’s the little things in life that please me!

In other random thoughts, Tater Tot spontaneously did her version of the sign for “Mommy” yesterday! Of course her version of the sign is to smack the side of her mouth with an open hand. Hmmm….kind of funny. I’ve said before that it’s like a switch has turned on in her brain and she’s paying more attention but it’s also had an effect on me. I’m more motivated to start using more signs with her because she’s more interested in them. So it’s off to the ASL browser to find more signs to use!
